The tiles of Old Jerusalem run the width of the wall on both sides of the tree. These tiles were calculated to fit with the consideration of an 11% shrinkage factor from the wet clay to the fired, glazed clay.

Above Right: Around each gate the stone was delicately cut on a curve and small marbles were used to adorn the arch. Also, the curtain wall of Old Jerusalem was precisely cut to fit in the tiles above.
